Abstract

: This article looks into five case studies that locate the moment of appearance of the phenomenon known as quality bestseller in the Spanish publishing field of the 80s. For this purpose, the material protagonists, collections and mediators that take part will be taken into account, as well as the series of bets that are carried out to intro-duce the different publications in a new literary system.
