Abstract
One of the ways to implement photonic bandgap (PBG) microstrip structures consist on drilling a periodic pattern through the substrate or etching a one or two dimensional periodic pattern of circles in the ground plane of a microstrip line. In this paper, novel nonperiodic patterns of etched circles in the ground plane of a 50 Ohm microstrip line were studied using experimental measurement.
