Abstract

For NASA’s Europa Clipper mission, the spacecraft is scheduled to orbit Jupiter for 3.5 years. Magnetic shielding for spacecraft electronics in this environment is challenging, mass is precious and Jupiter’s environmental magnetic fields threaten to saturate any magnetic materials on-board. Addressing these challenges, a multi-layered magnetic shield is presented.
