Abstract

This paper describes and solves partly a contradiction between transfer efficiency and bandwidth arising during design of a frequency discriminator (FD) for a modern ultra-low phase noise microwave source equipped with an automatic frequency control (AFC) and a whispering gallery resonator (WGR). Using of the guided WGR resonant modes splitting is proposed as a tool to solve the problem.
