The fuzzy logic controller for the catenary zone and catenary-less zone is respectively designed by analyzing the structure and operation mode of the hybrid system, then an energy management strategy based on double fuzzy logic control is proposed to enhance the fuel economy. The hybrid modern tramway simulation system is developed based on MATLAB/Simulink environment, and operation of a researching hybrid modern tramway on a planned railway line is simulated to verify the performance of the hybrid modern tramway. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed control strategy can satisfy the demand for train dynamic performance and achieve the power distribution reasonably between the power source. Abstract
A catenary-battery-ultracapacitor powered hybrid modern tramway is studied.
