Abstract
This paper addresses and summarizes the guidelines for EMC compliance measurements per EN50083-2:1995 (cabled distribution systems for television, sound, and interactive multimedia signals, Part 2. Electromagnetic compatibility for equipment) including Amendment A1:1997. As the technology advances, i.e., broadband cable systems, merging of the telephone/data lines over hybrid fiber, and the popularity of fiber/coax systems, the applicability of this standard to various types of equipment is increasing. The scope of this standard not only includes headend equipment for television and sound signals, but also any equipment used in interfacing and transmitting all kinds of interactive multimedia signals excluding user terminals.
