Abstract

Recent progress in research on optical fiber devices, especially optical fiber couplers and optical fiber grating couplers are reviewed. Add-drop multiplexer operation by optical fiber grating couplers has recently attracted attention, because of its inherent low-insertion loss, simple implementation, and potential low-cost.
