Animated sensitivity analysis for production planning

Abstract

The use of advanced computer graphics technology for animated sensitivity analysis is discussed in the context of production planning. Animated sensitivity analysis allows users to make continuous 'local' changes to the state of the system (e.g. the schedule) and simultaneously see appropriate (though not optimal) global changes. The concept is illustrated with two examples from production scheduling, though it is believed that the concept is more widely acceptable.<>
