Abstract

The focus of this paper is on a delay based backoff scheme to support m-commerce over wireless local area network (WLAN). Based on the distributed coordination function (DCF) and the enhanced DCF (EDCF) mechanisms in IEEE 802.11 and 802.lie, a novel backoff scheme is proposed.
