The design and implementation of a very high level language for literary scholars

Abstract

A very high level language is outlined which has been designed to allow literary scholars to perform operations such as the extraction of data from texts, the construction of concordances and the siting of manuscript fragments. An efficient implementation is described, and some possible enhancements suggested.
