Abstract

Much research has been done lately to investigate the interaction of intense coherent light with molecules. Even simple homonuclear diatomic molecules exhibit very complicated behavior in an intense light field, including multiphoton ionization and dissociation, multiple ionization, above-threshold ionization (ATI), and bondsoftening, which has also been called above-threshold dissociation (ATD).1
