The Factors Affecting Positioning Accuracy of Geared Servodrives

Abstract

The paper deals with nonlinearities of the gears, which are often used with electrical servos and it describes their effect on the positioning accuracy in detail. The methodology for the measurement of the nonlinearities and for the repetitive accuracy is also presented. Finally, methods for improving the accuracy are briefly introduced.
