It is worth mentioning that the selected building facade is based on a special type of building in Malaysia - antique shophouses, which are modelled structurally, and the propagation of electromagnetic wave along a street is simulated to investigate radio propagation in such specific scenario. The findings of this work are serviceable to the finetuning of accuracy in propagation prediction software. Abstract

Investigation on the behaviour of electromagnetic field interacting with objects and buildings is becoming more and more important due to the rapid development of wireless communication system these years. Comparing with the common practice to replace complex building structure with a flat surface, which causes the reduction in simulation accuracy, in this paper, the Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD) is utilized with ray-tracing method to include diffraction effects on building facades in propagation simulation.
