Some experiences in interfacing a PL/I module with GPSS-V

Abstract

While conductins a research project, it was necessary to make an extensive number of executions using two large GPSS-V models. In order to consolidate the statistics produced by GPSS from these runs, it was decided to interface a PL/I module with GPSS-V using the HELPCPLI block. The PL/I module accesses the GPSS data structures and writes information selected from them to a data set. The data set is then used to consolidate the statistics using separate PL/I programs. The following is a brief summary of some experiences encountered while attempting to achieve the interface.
