Developing an Intergenerational Program

Abstract

Summary In this paper, the author describes in some detail the following steps in the development of an intergenerational program: needs assessment, planning, implementation, assuring longevity, and supporting a national focus. Inherent in each of these steps is an articulated reminder that thoughtful program development needs to consider, at all stages of development, opportunities for building positive self-esteem among the younger and older participants in the program.
