Abstract
The study determines the coping skills of newly admitted jail inmates before and after intervention with CBT and spiritual videos. A random sample of 346 inmates was screened with the Brief Resilience Scale (BRS; Smith et al. (2008)), out of which 220 were deemed to have low coping. After dropout from research, mainly due to bailing out, the inmates who eventually completed the study were 116. They were placed in three main groups: a CBT group, a spiritual video group, and a control group. The SPSS software version 28.0 was used to extract the results, wherein the testing tool, t-test, was used for the comparison of pre and post intervention and comparison between the two interventions. It was concluded that both the interventions were equally effective in treating the inmate’s coping skills.
