Abstract
This 2-day workshop has saved my program 6 weeks of planning time!" This comment came from a program manager after attending a tailoring session for his program. They had just finished making the TI/DSEG IPD Process fit their program. Comments like this are common from programs that understand and use the process. ONCURRENT Engineering IS the design practice C of the future. The Integrated Product Development Process is our way of ingraining the concept into the culture of TI/DSEG. Our process describes the DoD procurement cycle by listing the tasks we must accomplish in each of the phases. Those phases are Concept Explo- ration (CE), Demonstration/Validation (Dem/Val>, Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD), Production, and Operation/Support. This IPD process contains more than 100 flowcharts, detailing over 900 tasks in the life cycle of the nominal DoD program. We have a commercial version as well.
