THE INFLUENCE OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION BY HEAVY METALS ON THE QUALITY OF SEED PLANT PROPERTY

Abstract

The work is devoted to studying the consequences of environmental pollution by heavy metals for seed progeny of plants. It is shown that small concentrations of heavy metals in soils can contribute to an increase in seed germination and germination energy, and high concentrations can reduce the quality of seed offspring and have a genotoxic effect. Excess heavy metals in soils may be a limiting factor for plants, capable of affecting the quality of seed offspring and reduce the stability of populations.
