Abstract

This paper aims to determine the mass of foaming agents for shaping 3D glass shell resonators in the foaming process. A simplified analytical model coupled with finite element analysis is established to relate the shell height with the mass of foaming agents. The experimental results are in good agreement with the values predicted by the model. This model provides a way for controlling shell height in the foaming process.
