Abstract

Gas-liquid flow of the spray nozzle of the wet skin-pass mill is the key factor to ensure the process of wet skin-pass of cold-rolled strip steel. By the coupling of free interface tracking method — Volume of Fluid and the k-∊ turbulence model, the three-dimensional modeling and numerical analysis were made inside and outside the nozzle of a steel wet skin mill. The distribution characteristics of whole three-dimensional two-phase flow-field between the inlet of single, 15-degree tilt dual-nozzle and the surface of strip steel are obtained, which meet wet skin-pass requirements and provide key references for rational design of skin-pass mill nozzles and quality improvement of rolled steel.
