Cultivating management awareness of human performance issues

Abstract

The thesis that the culture of an organization can have such a strong impact on people's behavior that it could affect the safe operation of the nuclear power plant is examined. The authors' specific experience related to this topic is reported. 'Milepost marker' actions which were used to cultivate management awareness of human performance issues are discussed.<>
