There are three methods in swarm intelligence presented which have been proven to have very competitive performance on various optimization problems, including automatic document summarization. These methods include particle swarm optimization, ant colony, and artificial bee colony. The main parts of this review are the introduction, explanation of the swarm intelligence method, and the stages of document summarization. Abstract

In recent years, the need for automatic document summarization has been very high, considering the explosion of text data from many sources. Various approaches have been used to summarize documents. One of them is a method based on swarm intelligence. Swarm intelligence is an artificial intelligence method that adopts colony behavior. It utilizes information exchange mechanisms between agents to get better solutions and random techniques for optimum global exploration of the search space.
