PENGARUH DIGITALISASI DAN VARIABEL-VARIABEL EKONOMI TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN EKONOMI DI ASIA

Abstract

Digitalization is an interesting topic to be researched in encouraging technological progress and stimulating increased economic growth. Current economic activities cannot be separated from the use of information and communication technology through telecommunications networks and the use of the internet by conducting e-commerce and online business transactions. This study aims to analyze the effect of digitalization and economic variables on economic growth. This study uses GMM regression from 2005 to 2021 with the help of STATA software in 48 Asian countries. The results showed that only the individual internet usage variable had no significant effect on economic growth. Fixed broadband subscriptions which have a higher impact than mobile cellular subscriptions. Furthermore, gross fixed capital formation provides the largest contribution among other variables. Therefore, the government should increase the budget for infrastructure development in the telecommunications sector so that people have easy internet access, and produce skilled workers in the field of technology through formal and informal education.
