Abstract

Luminescence decay properties of crystalline La$F_{3}$ nanoparticles activated by 5% $\text Sm^{3+}$ or 12% $\text Ce^{3+}$ ions were studied. The observed effects of the variation of synthesis conditions and composite structure on luminescence properties of nanoparticles open the way to manage luminescence and energy transfer properties of the materials.
