Abstract

The visual and electrical effects of arced SF6 gas on epoxy spacers with various fillers are examined. Field experience and laboratory investigations into the dielectric degradation of epoxy spacers and maintenance techniques for identifying serious loss of dielectric withstand are discussed. Rehabilitation of damaged spacers is also discussed.
