Abstract

A planar dually-polarized six-port junction is presented for polarimetry remote sensing. The novelty of the proposed polarization-inclusive remote sensing concept lies in the way the orthogonal polarizations are measured and compared to the reference signal. The core of the proposed system is the dually-polarized individual components such as the dually polarized waveguides, hybrid couplers and phase shifters. The signal flow in the proposed system is explained in details. An example for the analytical procedure to design millimeter wave dually-polarized phase shifter is explained in details.
