RTI Databases - Who Will Pay For Them?

Abstract

This paper briefly addresses three issues: the requirements for RTI (Road Transport Informatics) databases, the obstacles facing the creation and maintenance of such databases in Europe, and some relevant current initiatives. The author stresses the need to seek out the most efficient ways to collect, maintain and exchange this data, in order to support a commercially successful market in RTI products.
