Abstract
The broadband planar square monopole/dipole antennas are characterized for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. Due to the unique requirements from UWB applications, the design considerations, impedance, radiation, and transfer performance of the planar broadband antennas driven by impulses are examined numerically and validated experimentally. The study shows the important characteristics of broadband antennas in both time and frequency domains.
