Abstract

∗In the present AC-AC system, the arc faults caused by insulation defects and loose joints, which are not easily extinguished and difficult to detect, are the main cause of electrical fire accidents, so it is important to analyze the generation of arcs and their principles. This paper outlines the fault characteristics of the arc and some of its mathematical models based on the arc gap balance energy, and the Cassie arc model as an example, uses MATLAB/simulink platform, simulation of the voltage and current waveform in a single resistive load, inductive load, parallel resistive load.
