Abstract

This paper proposes an improved bidirectional half-bridge LLC resonant topology operanting between a DC nanogrid and battery bank. The converter presented promotes control actions such as charging a lead acid battery, while the DC bus voltage remains constant. The AC analysis and operating characteristics of the bidirectional LLC resonant converter in forward and backward modes are investigated. The soft-switching converter has been observed throughout the whole converter operation, inside the zero voltage switching and zero current switching modes.
