The low-cost embedded design is based on the microcontroller – 89C51 and Analog to Digital Converter – ADC 0808. The design is capable of acquiring up to eight channel data and also performs the conversion of channel data into a single serial data for wireless transmission. The low-cost embedded hardware provides the flexibility of selecting the channels based on the number of measurements. The serial data is then wirelessly transmitted using SMS (Short Message Service) standard in GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) for remote monitoring and data logging in LabVIEW environment.
