A Survey of Library School Colloquia.

Abstract

ALMOST ALL LIBRARY SCHOOLS engage in the practice of inviting outside speakers to talk to their faculty and students. Usually these are a formal series of talks scheduled at definite times throughout the year and often called a colloquium. We at the School of Library Science of the University of Kentucky have been developing such a colloquium series and decided to poll other schools for their experiences both as a help to us and as a means of obtaining a summary that might be of assistance to all concerned. A questionnaire was recently sent to the 44 accredited library schools. The following queries were made:
