Distribution of spawning grounds of pacific herring Sakhalin-Hokkaidо and Decastri population off the west coast Sakhalin Island (Japan Sea)

Abstract

The results of the spawning grounds distribution of the Pacific herring of the Sakhalin-Hokkaidо and Decastri populations off the west coast Sakhalin Island (Sea of Japan) for the period from 1930–1950 to 2020 are summarized. Including data on the distribution of spawning grounds, eggs density in 2019 and 2020. Available information indicates clear signs of a modern increase in the number of herring of the populations under consideration.
