The Crucial Role of Trust in Adapting Logistics to the New Conditions

Abstract

Logistics is gaining significance in a world full of multidirectional relationships. The main goal of the chapter is to introduce the term of trust in the context of changes in contemporary logistics taking into account current obstacles such as the COVID-19 crisis. Identification of the research gaps in the scope of management is also intended. The chapter presents the impact of the Industry 4.0 concept on strategic changes in logistics. Then, the concept of trust as a key success factor in making changes to adapt logistics to new operating conditions was defined. The next parts present the assumptions and results of the study among the major logistics operators in Poland, whose strategic changes were disrupted by the crisis related to the coronavirus pandemic.
