Abstract

Currently, food products are displayed in convenience stores on the basis of employee subjectivity. An investigation of convenience store “A, ” revealed the following issues. First, the only instructions provided by the headquarters concerning the display of food products are with respect to their distribution. Second, the data available on the store computer is currently unsuitable for answering employee requests. The current system classifies the sales data according to the month, week, day, and time zone. However, any elements employees refer to with respect to the display food products are missing because the value fluctuates violently in such raw data. Detailed information is required about the elements that are referred to by employees with respect to displaying food products because this information changes every time there is a change in the weather forecast and number of customers. Subsequently, as indicated in Figure 1, system models establish the hypothesis that the number of products sold depends on each element by using Bayes’s theorem and expression of Linke.
