An Analytical Study of the Chain Based Data Collection Approaches

Abstract

In Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN) and Internet of Things (IoT) domain, data needs to be routed from different nodes/devices to some central controller or the processor (base station/sink). Over the years various routing protocols have been developed that tend to decrease the energy dissipation of the nodes during transmission of the data to the sink. In this work, we present a comparative study of the various chain based routing protocols present in the literature. This work also presents a concise analysis of the various aspects of these protocols.
