At 26 mbar, a slight peak shift towards higher wavenumbers is observed, corresponding to the C-O stretching of acetyl groups. The highest transmittance, nearly 64 percent, is found in the UV region of the UV-vis spectra at the same optimised conditions as FTIR. As a result of these findings, PVA became a transparent material for greenhouses. technique is still limited in the second regime.
