Development of research on facial expression recognition

Abstract

Facial expression recognition is a challenging problem in computer vision, and has been actively researched currently. In this paper, the current research states of facial expression recognition are analyzed mostly from the aspects of facial expression feature extract, expression recognition methods, and facial expression database involved in the research, and a comparison is made of these methods. Finally, the research challenges are generally concluded, and the possible trends are outlined.
