Abstract

The Public Alpine Wireless Network (PAWN) is a complete wireless microwave communication system. It has been designed to be implemented economically in isolated mountainous terrains where there are only about 100 subscriber units in approximately 5000 km/sup 2/, PAWN works in the microwave frequency range of 1-9 GHz.
