It is demonstrated that during operation, the change in the regulated technological parameters of the stop-limiter occurs at a relatively low mileage of the locomotive, and the current repair technology does not provide for its prompt replacement due to design features. Based on the analysis of the mechanical properties of the materials used, the stress-strain state of a stop pin model was obtained when interacting with a thrust plate. The results of the calculation of the strength of the stop presented in the article show the predominance of plastic deformations in the contact spot with the thrust plate, which justifies the need to use materials with a higher yield strength to achieve a minimum safety factor. Abstract

The article discusses and analyzes the reasons for reducing the operational life of a body suspension unit - the stop-limiter for horizontal movements of a bogie frame, currently used in the design of the mechanical part of most locomotives of the new series.
