Turkish Foreign Policy towards the Syrian and Libyan Crises (2011-2021)

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and examine the truth and reasoning behind Turkey’s active role in the Syrian and Libyan conflicts specifically, and in the Middle Eastern region in general. The study relies on the systems analysis approach and uses it to explain Turkey’s logic and inspect all their decisions regarding those conflicts, in an attempt to assess the risks and threats posed by Turkish policies and their impact on the future of the political settlement of these crises. The study found key results, which are: that Turkey’s role is a negative factor in resolving the Syrian and Libyan crises, due to it being malicious in nature and only wanting to further Turkey’s regional role.
