Abstract
Waste management according to Act No. 18 of 2008 on Waste Management is a systematic, comprehensive, and continuous covering waste reduction and handling. However, currently most of the waste management carried out is still just collecting and transporting waste without any effort to reduce the amount of waste generation. As a result of waste management that there is no effort to reduce, the amount of waste generation will be large and only end up in the final disposal site (TPA), which affects the health of the environment around the landfill site, such as the formation of leachate, methane gas and odors. For this reason, it is necessary to make an effort to reduce the amount of waste generation, one of which can be done is by way of community-based waste management through 3R (Reduse, Reuse and Recycle).
Based on these problems, it is necessary to do socialization to the community about how to manage community-based waste through the 3Rs so that people can play an active and sustainable role in waste management.
