Abstract

The problem of error control strategies in wireless multimedia networks adopting the ATM protocol is addressed. In particular, we investigate the performance attainable by using a hybrid combination of automatic repeat request (ARQ) techniques and forward error correcting (FEC) codes for class C, connection oriented, non-delay critical and variable bit-rate services.
