One of the things I find hardest about the world of work — and, specifically, business rather than academia — is knowing how to behave in certain situations. Some people find this easy, some feel really awkward at the intersection of professional and social behaviour. Maybe that’s not you, in which case, lucky you. There is probably a class element to it, as well.
