Abstract
This paper describes the DECT (Digital European Cordless Telecommunications) system and the envisaged application environments, such as the residential, the office and the public environment. If DECT base stations in the public environment (telepoints) are interconnected via a mobility supporting network, a PCN-like system could be offered, thus eliminating the difference between cordless and cellular systems.
