Abstract
It has been suggested that 20\% of the participants in a free/libre/open source software (FLOSS) project contribute 80\% of the work. This paper attempts to verify this claim for nine projects and for various metrics of user activity such as the number of contributions, duration of involvement with the project, and the number of modifications to source code files.
