Abstract

We present the modeling of an ultrahigh speed transverse-coupled-cavity (TCC) VCSEL, which shows the improvement of the optical feedback tolerance. The critical feedback level is increased with increasing the coupling strength, which enables an isolator-free operation of single-mode VCSELs for use in single-mode fiber transmissions.
