Magnetic Materials for Small Magnetic Sensors and Airport Detectors

Abstract

Devices and machines used for airport security purposes use technologies from many different fields. Generally metal detectors are used to ensure security at the airport entrance areas. Magnetic sensors can be candidates to the optimal operation of the magnetic security gates or magnetic handheld detectors. In our work we analyze the physical properties of amorphous magnetic materials, exhibiting the giant magneto-impedance effect, suitable for use in magnetic field sensors.
