Introducing Visual Criminology

Abstract

This short chapter introduces the field of visual criminology and describes the context, content, and organization of the book. It introduces the names, concepts, tendencies, and themes that will animate the book including cultural criminology, critical criminology, early criminological interest in graffiti, protest and social movements. Finally, it addresses some key issues and controversies in the field.
