Education at a Glance 2018: OECD Indicators © OECD 2018 180 WHO IS EXPECTED TO GRADUATE FROM UPPER SECONDARY EDUCATION? • On average across OECD countries, women make up 55% of upper secondary graduates in general programmes, but this figure goes down to 46% for vocational programmes. • On average across OECD countries, the average age in vocational programmes is higher than in general programmes (for both men and women). • Based on current patterns, it is estimated that on average across OECD countries, 81% of today’s young people will graduate from upper secondary education before the age of 25, compared to 73% in 2005.
